Submitting a Software Approval Form
Software approval is for applications and websites that collect student/staff information and/or require use of a user account and/or charge a fee. Software review is not intended for unblocking websites or issues with currently approved software. If you have a website unblock request or a problem with current software, please submit a help ticket instead.
The software approval process involves several steps. Requestors are encouraged to read all of the steps below to understand the process before submitting a request. Software must go through the approval process when first use is requested and at least every three years thereafter (the approved software list will show the next time approval will be needed. If software is not on the list, approval is needed now) in order to assess any changes to the privacy policy, rostering and/or technology requirements. Software Approval typically takes 2 weeks, but time varies greatly depending on response time from vendors. Software Approval does NOT include funding. Requestors must arrange their own funding for any software purchase requests.
- Check the Platforms and Systems List for software that is recommended and already approved which might fit your needs. Check with your Instructional Coach and/or Digital Learning Specialist for help as needed.
- If you don't find what you need on the Platforms and Systems List, please see if your software is already on the approved software list here. If your software is not on the approved list, please submit a Software Request form available here . If your software is listed, and column D says it is approved, you can move forward with obtaining the software. Please submit a help ticket if you need assistance. Note: You will need to login to Laserfiche to submit a request. For username you must put aisd\ before your login name. Example aisd\firstname.lastname Your password is your normal AISD password.
- For classroom/instructional applications, Digital Learning reviews the request to determine if alternative software is already approved/recommended. If so, the requestor is notified and asked if they would like to consider the alternative or proceed with the approval request.
